Mumbai man arrested for strangling woman in Turbhe lodge for refusing to marry him

A Mumbai man was arrested for strangling a woman at a lodge. The man, aged 24, was identified as Soheb Kalam Sheikh, and was arrested by Navi Mumbai police for killing a 35-year-old woman at a lodge in Navi Mumbai's Turbhe.

According to the report, the incident occurred on January 9 and Sheikh, a resident of Saki Naka, was taken into custody on Saturday.
The PTI report stated that during the initial investigation, it was discovered that Sheikh and the victim were in a relationship, and he was allegedly pressuring her to marry him. The police official revealed that Sheikh threatened the victim, claiming that he would share her private images with her family. Notably, he had already given images to her mother and sister, using blackmail as a form of pressure.
