<p>Mumbai Police have busted an alleged <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/prostitution-racket-busted-at-spa-in-navi-mumbai-6-women-rescued-23605894" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">prostitution racket operating</a> from a luxury hotel in the Girgaon area of south Mumbai, rescuing two actresses and arresting a make-up artist accused of running the operation, officials said.</p>
<p>The action was carried out by the anti-human trafficking cell earlier this week after police received information about alleged illegal activities taking place at the hotel.</p>
<p>According to officials, a decoy customer was sent to verify the information before the police team conducted the raid and took action.</p>
<h2>Two actresses rescued during operation</h2>
<p>During the raid, police rescued two women from <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/15-year-old-girl-rescued-from-prostitution-racket-in-mumbai-one-woman-arrested-23517438" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">the hotel premises</a>. Officials said one of them is an actress associated with the Marathi film industry, while the other has worked in Hindi and Bengali films, including cameo and supporting roles.</p>
<p>The rescued women were taken for further procedures as per legal requirements, while investigators started gathering details about how the alleged network was being operated.</p>
<p>Police said they are examining whether more people were involved in the racket and if similar activities were being carried out at other locations.</p>
<h2>Make-up artist accused of running racket arrested</h2>
<p>A make-up artist, who allegedly acted as an agent and facilitated the operation, was arrested during the raid.</p>
<p>According to investigators, the accused had professional connections in the entertainment industry and allegedly used these contacts while <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/28-year-old-man-held-for-running-prostitution-racket-in-andheri-23546567" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">operating the racket</a>.</p>
<p>Police said the accused was caught during the operation, and further questioning is underway to understand the extent of his involvement and identify other possible associates.</p>
<h2>Police examine financial links and hotel&rsquo;s role</h2>
<p>Investigators are now looking into the financial transactions linked to the alleged racket and are trying to trace others connected to the operation.</p>
<p>The role of the hotel management is also being examined to determine whether any staff members were aware of the activities or provided assistance.</p>
<p>Officials said statements of relevant individuals are being recorded as part of the investigation.</p>
<h2>Further investigation underway</h2>
<p>A case has been registered in connection with <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-crime-cops-bust-sex-racket-in-plush-goregaon-hotel-struggling-actress-model-held-22406153" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">the incident</a>, and police are continuing their probe into the network.</p>
<p>Officials said efforts are being made to identify all individuals involved and determine the scale of the alleged operation.</p>
