The Kasturba Marg Police in Mumbai have arrested two persons allegedly involved in a night-time burglary. The duo had allegedly broken open the shutter of a borewell materials' shop and fled with copper cable worth Rs 75,000.
According to the police, on the night of November 15–16, unidentified suspects broke the shutter of Shop No 1 in Sai Prasad Building, located near Swagat Hall on Kasturba Road No 5, Borivali East, and stole copper cable belonging to Polycab Company. A case was registered under the relevant sections at Kasturba Marg Police Station in Mumbai.
Sub-inspector Dhiraj Vaikos, along with his crime detection team, head constable Aniket Shinde, Rajesh Pednekar, Tanveer Mujawar, Karunesh Mhatre, Mahantesh Savali, Pravin Farde, Mahadev Puri, Rahul Sangle, Vikesh Shingte, Rahul Vader, Amol Fopse, Tushar Pujari, and Aniket Sakpal, scanned CCTV footage and laid a trap at Azad Nagar slum near Golden Nest Signal, Bhayander East, where both the suspects were apprehended last night.
The police recovered the stolen copper cable and also seized the autorickshaw used in the crime.
The accused have been identified as Sonu Dubey (47) and Sanojkumar Harijan (27).
