After checking windows of all flats in the building, police find bloodstains on window of one of the houses, book 16-year-old girl; her family apparently had no idea of her pregnancy

A 16-year-old girl has been booked by the Virar police for allegedly throwing her newborn from the toilet window of her flat. The police said the girl had hid her pregnancy from her parents by wearing loose clothes.
The incident occurred at a Virar housing society, where the girl lives with her parents. The infant was rushed to a private hospital by locals but she was declared dead on arrival. Police said they have sent the teen to a remand home. The police are also in the process of registering another FIR in this matter against the 16-year-old girl’s boyfriend who is 25 years old.

According to the police, the incident occurred on Tuesday around 12.30 pm. Speaking with mid-day PSI Abhijeet Tailor of Virar police station said, “We checked all CCTV cameras but we didn’t find anything, so were sure that it was someone from the society who had committed the crime. While checking the duct area windows, we found bloodstains on the second floor grille.”
“When we checked the house, we found some bloodstains on the commode and we finally confirmed that the infant was delivered at this flat,” PSI Tailor explained.
“Later, we took the girl into custody and discovered that she had a boyfriend. We brought him, too, to the police station. During interrogation, the girl finally revealed the truth. She said she had hidden her pregnancy from her parents by wearing loose clothes. We are interrogating her boyfriend,” PSI Tailor said.
