Newborn girl thrown off 7-storey building in Virar; teen booked

A 16-year-old girl has been booked by the Virar police for allegedly throwing her newborn from the toilet window of her flat. The police said the girl had hid her pregnancy from her parents by wearing loose clothes.
The incident occurred at a Virar housing society, where the girl lives with her parents. The infant was rushed to a private hospital by locals but she was declared dead on arrival. Police said they have sent the teen to a remand home. The police are also in the process of registering another FIR in this matter against the 16-year-old girl’s boyfriend who is 25 years old.
