A consumer court in Mumbai has directed Flipkart and a seller to refund more than Rs 1.11 lakh to a customer who received a bottle of beard growth oil instead of the Apple iPhone he had ordered, while also awarding Rs 70,000 as compensation and litigation costs.

The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Additional DCF, Mumbai (Suburban), held that the e-commerce platform and the seller were jointly responsible for the deficiency in service and unfair trade practice after repeatedly closing the customer's complaints without offering an effective resolution.
