According to the police, the FIR was registered based on a complaint by former police sub-inspector Shashikant Mane, who now serves as a security officer at Mumbai Metro One. Following the complaint, Amboli police have initiated an investigation into the matter.

The police officials, the incident occurred on June 3 at around 1:45 p.m. Security officer Mane received a call from the Metro Control Room informing him that a glass panel on the roof of the Mumbai Metro One car shed had been damaged. Mane then visited the site and questioned the workers present.
