Thane: Railway attendant arrested with Goa-made liquor worth Rs 71,560 on Mangaluru Express

According to the department, officials noticed a suspicious man getting off the train with two bags. He was identified as Shivam Chhanbas Mathpati, who allegedly told officials that he worked as a railway attendant

The State Excise Department seized 61 bottles of Goa-manufactured foreign liquor worth Rs 71,560 from the Mangaluru Express at Thane railway station and arrested a railway attendant on September 23.
Acting on information about the alleged transportation of Goa-made liquor into Maharashtra, officials from the State Excise Department’s E Division, Thane-1, intercepted the Mangaluru Express (12134) at around 12.15 pm on Platform No. 8.
