22-year-old stabs man to death in road rage; arrested

Meanwhile, in an another incident, last month, the Pant Nagar police had arrested a 22-year-old man for killing a man in a road rage incident which took place on Saturday (May 24) at around 2.30 pm near the Vikhroli Traffic Chowky.

Police said that the accused, Suraj Jaiswal, was riding with a woman on his Activa when a car overtook them. Following the incident, Jaiswal confronted the victim, identified as Zeeshan, and an argument broke out.

According to eyewitnesses, the verbal spat escalated quickly, and in a fit of rage, Jaiswal pulled out a large knife and stabbed Zeeshan multiple times. Zeeshan collapsed on the spot and succumbed to his injuries before help could arrive. The accused and the woman accompanying him fled the scene immediately after the attack.

Jaiswal, a resident of Hariyali Village in Vikhroli, was later arrested, said police.

The arrest was carried out by Pant Nagar police with support from the local crime branch after Jaiswal was traced to a hideout in the Vikhroli area in Mumbai where he had been evading arrest. Police said that a case of murder has been registered at Pant Nagar police station against Jaiswal, adding that he has currently been placed in police custody.
