Two persons were today convicted of killing a man and were sentenced to life in prison by the district court in Thane. The Thane district judge PP Jadhav also fined the two Rs 20,000 each.
Javed alias Java Noor Ahmed Shaikh and Mohammad Aslam alias Sheru Mohammad Hanif Shaikh had killed one Mehmood Khan on January 20, 2014 after Khan refused to let the duo consume drugs in his hut, police said. The Shil Daighar police had arrested the two at the time and had charged them for murder as well as under relevant sections of the Arms Act and the Bombay Police Act, police said.
