<p>Three people were seriously injured after a Mahindra Thar allegedly rammed into their motorcycle in Sector 19 of <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/navi-mumbai-building-slab-collapse-balcony-slab-falls-from-vashi-building-16-families-begin-shifting-23649835" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>Navi Mumbai's Vashi</strong></a>, police said said on Tuesday, reported the PTI.</p>
<p>The accident took place at around 9 pm on Monday near P K Hospital.</p>
<p>According to police, the SUV was allegedly being driven by Amar Gurkha Yadav, 32, at high speed when it collided with the motorcycle, the news agency reported.</p>
<h2>Three riders sustain serious injuries</h2>
<p>The three people on the motorcycle &mdash; Prinz Ratkumar Gupta, Manoj Ramphal Gupta and Nikhil Gupta &mdash; sustained <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/best-bus-accident-bus-hits-mumbai-metro-pillar-near-oberoi-mall-two-injured-23650096" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>serious injuries in the accident</strong></a>, according to the PTI.</p>
<p>They were taken for medical treatment following the crash.</p>
<h2>Driver allegedly fled the scene</h2>
<p>According to the PTI, police said that Yadav allegedly fled the spot after the collision. He was later traced by the police.</p>
<p>A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/pune-bengaluru-highway-accident-two-killed-12-injured-after-truck-hits-tempo-near-jambhulwadi-23649816" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)</strong></a>.</p>
<h2>Two injured after BEST bus crashes into Metro pillar</h2>
<p>Meanwhile, in an another incident, two people, including a passenger, were injured after a BEST electric bus crashed into a Metro rail pillar in Mumbai&rsquo;s Goregaon area, officials said on Tuesday.</p>
<p>The incident took place at around 5 pm on Monday, when the wet-leased electric bus was taking a right turn beneath the flyover near the Oberoi Mall signal while travelling towards Bhayander station (East).</p>
<p>According to officials, the bus first grazed the rear right side of a car before crashing into the Metro pillar.</p>
<h2>BEST employee and passenger injured</h2>
<p>The injured were identified as Rajendra Muralidhar Sonawane, 58, an employee of the BEST engineering department, and passenger Mangesh Ramchandra Modalekar, 57.</p>
<p>Sonawane suffered a head injury, while Modalekar sustained injuries to his head and chin.</p>
<p>Both were immediately taken to Trauma Care Hospital in Jogeshwari East by <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-60-year-old-woman-dies-after-being-hit-by-best-bus-in-worli-23648793" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>accident inspection staff</strong></a>. They were later discharged after receiving treatment.</p>
<h2>Police register case against bus driver</h2>
<p>Following a complaint filed by the car driver, police registered a case against the BEST bus driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).</p>
<p>Further investigation into the accident was underway.</p>
