Trio clubs man to death over glass of water

Threee persons were arrested by the officials of the Samarth police station yesterday for clubbing an unidentified person, supposedly aged between 35 and 40, to death over a glass of water.
The incident took place in the wee hours of Monday morning near Deokar Garage in Mangalwar Peth. The arrested trio were identified as Ganesh Nagesh Kalkutkar, Somnath Dadu Sakat and Kiran Raju Khawle. All three were residents of the Uppar Indira Nagar. Officials said the three were consuming alcohol at 12.30 am near the garage.
Police Inspector G V Nikam of the Samarth police station said, “The deceased was passing through the area at the same time. When he saw the trio consuming alcohol, he approached them and requested for a glass of water. But one of them abused him and asked him to leave the spot.”
