A 42-year-old woman from a well-to-do family has been arrested for allegedly stealing electronic goods from showrooms in Thane. The accused, a housewife from Mulund, targetted electronic stores during rush hours. The woman had allegedly stolen a laptop worth Rs 1 lakh from a shop in the city's Ghodbunder road on November 3, following which an offence was registered at Kapurbawdi police station.
The accused didn't attract suspicion due to her sophisticated looks and duped several stores by stealing laptops, mobile phones, cameras, Bluetooth devices, DVD players, headphones, vacuum cleaners, hard disks and watches and 11 CCTV cameras.
