New Delhi: A 20-year-old woman was stabbed to death while her mother was injured by a stalker in Delhi, police said Friday.

The man had been stalking the woman for the past few months but she refused to befriend him and lodged a complaint against him after he molested her near her home in east Delhi's Welcome area, police said.

The man came to the woman's house Friday morning, stabbed her and her mother several times and fled from the scene.

The woman later died of her injuries. Her mother was admitted to a nearby hospital.

Police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
