Mumbaikars react defiantly
After Mumbai's first swine flu death various quarters of the government have been warning people to stay away from heavily crowded places and to avoid going outdoors as much as possible. The general reaction seems to be that people cannot avoid going outdoors and will watch out for symptoms of the swine flu such as cold, cough, fever and body ache.
Clarence Lowden (26), "I cannot stop going outdoors and socialising as it is an essential part of my life. Why couldn't the government be more proactive in screening the entry of swine flu into the country? They knew about this many months ago and could've done a better job in containing the disease. I don't trust that the government is equipped to handle the situation."
