The proposed Centre for Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training (CIIIT) in Beed has received a major boost. The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has approved the allocation of 4,000 square meters of land in the Beed MIDC Industrial Area and has also committed funding support for the project.
The CIIIT, being developed in collaboration with Tata Technologies, aims to provide industrial training and technical skill development to the youth of Beed, enhancing employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. Officials said the project, which had been in the pipeline, gained rapid traction following Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s consistent follow-up through review meetings.
The MIDC board's decision is seen as a significant milestone, clearing the path for the signing of a tripartite agreement and laying the foundation stone in the coming weeks.
Tata Technologies has pledged an investment of ₹191 crore for the Beed CIIIT. Of this, 15 per cent—about Rs 33 crore—will be contributed by the Beed district administration, while the remaining funding will be provided by Tata Technologies and its partner organisations.
The centre is expected to train around 7,000 youth annually, offering cutting-edge instruction aligned with Industry 4.0 standards. For the first three years, Tata Technologies will bear the full cost of training, after which the expenses will be shared with the district administration.
Previously, a similar CIIIT was established at Gondwana University in Gadchiroli. MIDC is also overseeing upcoming centres in Ratnagiri and Shirdi. With Beed now added to this list, officials believe the region is on the path to becoming a hub for skilled talent.
Ajit Pawar first announced the Beed CIIIT project during his visit to the district on April 2, 2025. Following the announcement, he personally reached out to Tata Technologies, securing their partnership for the initiative. The swift administrative execution and strong public-private collaboration have drawn praise from local residents, who credit Pawar’s hands-on approach and commitment to developmental work.
The upcoming centre is expected to bridge the skill gap in the region, attract industrial investments, and create a pipeline of job-ready youth equipped with globally relevant technical skills.
