There seems to be no end to troubles of residents of the disputed flats in the Campa Cola society in Worli.

After the Supreme Court turned down their plea to let them stay in their homes, the homeowners, who will have to vacate their flats, had decided to stay on inside the society compound under a tent.

However, the Brihanm-umbai Municipal Corporation has deemed this as an act of encroachment.
The tent had been erected after raising funds from inhabitants of the legal floors in all seven buildings of the society. Those rendered homeless after evacuating their apartments had decided to take shelter under it &mdash; in fact, it was even supposed to have fans and mattresses. mid-day had reported on this in its June 6 edition (&lsquo;Residents to camp in common tent until civic body forces evacuation&rsquo;).

Taking objection to this, the BMC has sent a notice to the residents, asking them to remove the tent.
According to the notice, the residents are required to present, within 24 hours, an official permission for setting up the tent, by a competent authority.
A failure to do so would invite action against residents of the illegal flats and the tent shall be removed.

Residents vacating their homes for demolition had put it up to stay on in the society premises; BMC has asked them to pull it down if they are unable to submit proof that the structure had official permissions
