CIDCO to celebrate Makar Sankranti with a 17-day fair

Known as Pongal in Tamil Nadu and Maghi in Punjab, Makar Sankranti is celebrated with much vigour in different parts of the country. This year, CIDCO plans to mark the harvest festival with much fanfare by hosting a 17-day long Makar Sankranti Mela from January 3-19 at Urban Haat in Belapur.
In this elaborate event, artisans from West Bengal, Maharashtra, Assam, Tripura, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Bihar are participating with exclusive handloom and handicraft products.
