Despite the sudden surge in Covid-19 cases during May and June, Maharashtra is now observing a gradual decrease in active cases. Along with observing a steady decline in cases, the recovery rate in the state has also been increasing, which signifies the improving Covid-19 situation in the state. As per the data released by the Public Health Department on 11 July 2025, Maharashtra recorded seven new cases of Covid-19. The state Public Health Department also notified that all the patients who have tested positive are showing mild symptoms and do not require any intensive care.
According to Maharashtra’s Public Health Department, a total of 35,516 Covid tests have been conducted across the state since January 2025. Out of the 35,516 tests conducted, only 2,620 individuals have tested positive, with 2,532 patients having fully recovered.
This brings Maharashtra’s recovery rate to a remarkable 96.64%, indicating the success of ongoing healthcare efforts. Also, the data signifies that the situation across the state is not at all alarming.
On 11 July 2025, seven new positive cases were reported. Of these, four were reported from Mumbai, two from Pune Municipal Corporation, and one from Nagpur Municipal Corporation. With the addition of seven new cases on Friday, the total number of active cases currently stands at just 47 across the state.
More importantly, all active patients are showing mild symptoms, and no severe hospitalisations have been reported recently.
Furthermore, Mumbai has recorded a total of 1,039 cases since January this year, with a significant surge observed during May (435 cases) and June (551 cases). July has so far recorded 47 cases, indicating a slowing trend. The early months of the year had very few cases: January and February saw just one case each, with none reported in March.
Unfortunately, Maharashtra has also recorded 41 Covid-19-related deaths since January 2025. However, out of these casualties, 40 individuals already had comorbidities, and one death was linked to another pre-existing illness.
Considering that Maharashtra has been observing a decrease in Covid-19 cases, the Public Health Department and the civic authorities have urged people to remain cautious and adopt all the safety measures to counter the virus.
