For the first time in the second wave, the city’s fresh Covid-19 cases dipped below 300. While Mumbai recorded 299 new cases, it saw single-digit fatalities at eight. But, the significant drop could be because of fewer tests conducted over the weekend. After registering the lowest TPR on Sunday (1.14 per cent ), city’s TPR saw a marginal rise to 1.19 per cent on Monday.

After registering a TPR of above 2 per cent on June 27, the city’s TPR remained below it. Mumbai reported the highest number of cases — 11,163 — on April 4 and then the decline started. There has been a steady fall in the TPR since May 5. The city’s doubling rate has improved and was 1,324 days on Monday.
