A chemical-laden tanker caught fire on <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/search/mumbai-articles" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway</a> in Maharashtra's <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/search/palghar-articles" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Palghar district</a> on Wednesday, disrupting traffic movement on the busy route for a couple of hours, police told news agency PTI.
No one was injured in the blaze which erupted at around 3.30 am in the tanker in Medhvan Khind area, an official from Kasa police station told PTI.
The vehicle's driver and cleaner jumped out to safety, he said.
Local fire personnel rushed to the spot and doused the blaze in about two hours, the official said.

The tanker was completely destroyed, the official said, adding it was not yet known which chemical the vehicle was carrying.
The cause of the blaze was yet to be ascertained, he said.
Meanwhile, a fire broke out in a ground-plus-two-storey building in an industrial estate in Marol Naka area of suburban Andheri on Tuesday evening.
There were no reports of anyone getting injured. The fire broke out in building number 5 at Mittal Industrial Estate on Andheri-Kurla road around 4.45 pm.
Eight fire engines and other vehicles were rushed to the spot and dousing operation is underway, a civic official told PTI.
A senior civic official said in night that the fire was covered from all sides and controlled but not doused completely. "The fire fighting operation is still going on," he added.
