Mumbai: Around 117 patients have been diagnosed with H1N1 during last 48 hours in the city.
According to hospital authorities, none of the patients from Mumbai have succumbed to the deadly virus.
Out of the 11 patients who came for treatment from other regions of the country to Mumbai for treatment, three have lost their lives.
While the doctors and epidemiologists were claiming that the extended winter might be one of the reasons behind the prolonged existence of the virus, the number of patients has been on a rise after the temperature rise since the past week.
Till date, 427 Mumbaikers have been diagnosed with Swine Flu.
A 35-year-old male patient from Mumbra succumbed to Swine Flu on February 25 in Kasturba Hospital. The man was admitted on February 23 and suffered from bilateral pneumonia with cardio respiratory arrest. He suffered from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) and died just two days after being brought to the specialized hospital.
Another 31-year-old female lost her life on the same day at Nair Hospital. The Bhayander resident was first admitted in Kasturba Hospital on February 18 and was taking treatment for six days at the hospital. She succumbed to H1N1Pneumonitis with ARDS, though the doctors mentioned that the female suffered from Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, heart disease in the past.
Yesterday, a 35-year-old Malegaon resident who had a history of hypertension, passed away. The man was taking treatment at Sion Hospital and was admitted on February 22. The cause of death was reported as ARDS along with H1N1 pneumonia.
