Rahul feels that Pratyusha's parents have been influenced to believe that he is the reason for Pratyusha's death. He added, "Why did her parents wait for so many days after Pratyusha's death to lodge an FIR? They were under influence but as far as I am concerned, I know that Pratyusha has taken loans from various banks which has come out in police investigation too. Whatever allegations have been made against me are fake and baseless which I will prove in the court."

When a journalist asked him about the Pratyusha's pregnancy, Rahul denied it and also denied abortion. He said, "Why is everyone quoting sources? If the doctor has confirmed her pregnancy and abortion, why not reveal his name then? As I said earlier, I am innocent and I will prove it in the court."
