It wasn&rsquo;t a medical drug or psychotropic drug (cocaine) that caused Indrani Mukerjea to faint, but rather of &lsquo;weakness&rsquo;, low blood sugar levels and tension, the Byculla jail authorities said on Saturday in a eight-page report submitted to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Mukerjea, prime accused in the murder of her daughter Sheena Bora, was admitted to the state-run JJ Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals on October 2 after she fainted in her jail cell. State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had ordered an inquiry by Inspector General (Prisons) Bipin Kumar Singh into the incident.
&ldquo;We have recorded statements of 32 people including jail officials, medical officers, security guards, jail inmates and doctors at J J Hospital. We have also checked CCTV footage, documents and Indrani&rsquo;s statement too was recorded on the October 6. She said that neither was she poisoned, nor had she attempted suicide,&rdquo; said Singh.
While there were contradictions in the urine sample reports from Hinduja Hospital and the Kalina Forensic Science Lab, the jail authorities claimed that FSL reports were final and didn&rsquo;t need any confirmation. The Kalina reports said there was no drug overdose nor were any objectionable foreign object present in the blood or urine samples.

&ldquo;The cocaine level found in Indrani&rsquo;s body is just 35 nanogram which is far less than the objectionable limit of 300 nanogram. Such levels are called as in-deterrents which are present in everybody&rsquo;s body and can be caused by medicine or other things,&rdquo; said Dr Vijay Satbir Singh, principal secretary home prisons.
The report also states that an overdose was impossible as Indrani was administered medicines by experts who would also check that she swallowed all medicines, and could never pile them up to take everything together.
Peter writes to Indrani Jail authorities said that since her admission at Byculla jail, Mukerjea has written four letters. Her husband Peter has replied to two of these. However, Peter hasn&rsquo;t visited her.

When cops visited Peter&rsquo;s home after October 2, they found it locked. Sources feel that Peter keeping a distance could be growing cause of worry for Mukherjea, who found out about her mother&rsquo;s death on Friday.
