Maharashtra govt approves Rs 252-crore Cyclone Tauktae relief aid

The Rs 252-crore relief amount is more than the central government-fixed norms under the NDRF (National Disaster Response Fund) which would otherwise come to around Rs 72 crore, officials said. The additional expenditure will be borne by the state, they said

The Maharashtra government on Thursday approved a Rs 252-crore relief package for people in the coastal districts affected by Cyclone Tauktae.
The decision was taken in the weekly Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
