A boat capsized off the Uran coast in Raigad district of Maharashtra; five people were rescued while searches were going on for three others who were missing, officials said.
Meanwhile, as parts of Maharashtra continue to witness heavy rains, landslide warnings have been issued in Mahabaleshwar due to continuous downpours, and local roads have been closed as a precaution. Both NDRF and SDRF teams have been put on standby for emergency response.
As per a forecast by the Mumbai Regional Meteorological Centre, orange alerts have been issued for Raigad, Pune Ghat and Satara Ghat districts, indicating the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in these areas.
A yellow alert has been issued for several districts, including Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburbs, Thane, Palghar, Nashik Ghat, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur Ghat, Buldhana, Akola, Washim, Yavatmal, Nagpur, Gondia, Wardha, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli, suggesting residents remain cautious.
Meanwhile, no districts are under a red alert, and the remaining districts fall under the green alert category, indicating normal weather conditions.
Due to ongoing heavy Maharashtra rain, an orange alert has been issued for Raigad, Pune Ghat, and Satara Ghat areas for the next 24 hours. Rising water levels in the Bagh river in Gadchiroli and the Kundalika river in Raigad have prompted district authorities to remain on high alert.

Coastal districts of Konkan could witness squally weather and rough sea conditions, while some river catchments may face the risk of riverine flooding. Vulnerable regions may experience landslides, mudslides, and rock falls. In addition, strong winds could damage plantations, horticulture, and standing crops. Kutcha houses may suffer minor damage, and there is also a chance of cloud-to-ground lightning during thunderstorms.
