Maharashtra rains: IMD issues red alert for Palghar, Pune Ghats and Nashik Ghats

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued red and orange alerts across several parts of Maharashtra, warning of intense rainfall, thunderstorms and squally winds over the next 24 hours.
The IMD’s Regional Meteorological Centre has cautioned that active weather systems are likely to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall, particularly across coastal districts, Western Ghats and parts of northern Maharashtra. Rainfall intensity is expected to gradually reduce, with light to moderate showers likely towards the weekend.
