Six persons were killed and one was injured after a speeding car collided with a motorcycle in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/three-killed-four-injured-as-car-with-seven-passengers-en-route-to-ujjain-overturns-in-maharashtras-jalgaon-23611170" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Maharashtra's Jalgaon district</a> on Tuesday morning, police officials said, reported PTI.
The incident occurred around 7 am near Londhe Phata at Amalner in Jalgaon, an official said.
The car occupants were travelling from Gujarat to attend an engagement ceremony when their vehicle collided head-on with a motorcycle. After the collision, the motorcycle crashed into a bus coming from the opposite direction, the official said, reported PTI.
Four car occupants -- Nandlal Mahajan, Anita Mahajan, Suresh Mahajan and Nirmala Mahajan -- and two motorcycle riders, identified as Nilesh Tawade and Falguni Bhoi, died in the accident, he said, reported PTI.
The car driver, Aditya Mahajan, suffered serious leg fractures and was rushed to a private hospital, the official said.
Local residents rushed to the spot after the incident and helped the police and <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/maharashtra-20-passengers-injured-after-private-bus-hits-another-vehicle-on-mumbai-nashik-highway-23594266" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">medical emergency teams</a> in the rescue operation.
A probe was underway into the incident, the police added.
<h2>25 injured as bus rams into truck in Maharashtra's Buldhana</h2>
In another incident, at least 25 passengers were injured when a private bus collided with a truck on the Nagpur-Mumbai <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/maharahtra-pune-nagpur-bus-collides-with-truck-on-samruddhi-mahamarg-15-seriously-hurt-23634283" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Samruddhi Expressway</a> in Maharashtra's Buldhana district early on Monday, police said, reported PTI.
The bus was heading from Pune to Nagpur when it rammed into the rear portion of the truck near Pimpri Mali village at around 4 am, an official from Mehkar police station said.
Twenty-five passengers were injured, two of them critically, and were rushed to a hospital in Mehkar town for treatment, the police said.
An investigation was underway into the incident.
<h2>Close shave for 30 passengers as bus overturns in hilly section in Beed</h2>
Meanwhile, thirty passengers travelling on board a private bus had a narrow escape after the vehicle overturned while negotiating a sharp bend in a hilly stretch in Beed district of Maharashtra early on Saturday, police said.
The incident took place when the bus going to <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/maharashtra-accident-three-killed-four-injured-as-autorickshaw-collides-with-truck-in-nanded-23361373" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Nanded</a> from Pune overturned in the Kanifnath Ghat in Ashti tehsil, about 85 km away from Beed, at 4 am.
The accident occurred after the driver allegedly lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn.
"The vehicle veered off the road and overturned onto the side of the road, triggering panic among the passengers, most of whom were asleep at the time," an official said.
After receiving the information a police team from the Ambhora police station rushed to the spot. Working alongside swift-acting local residents, authorities launched an immediate rescue operation.
A few passengers sustained minor injuries in the incident and were taken to a government hospital in Ahilyanagar, he said.
To ensure the travelers reached their destinations, the police arranged an alternative private bus for their transportation.
The overturned bus was later cleared from the roadside using cranes.
