When Saphale-based couple Namrata and Yogesh Narayan Kini left their house last morning, they couldn&rsquo;t have suspected the following turn of events. 21-year-old Namrata was pregnant and had complained of abdominal pain, so they decided to go to the hospital for a check-up. But on their way in a shuttle train, Namrata went into labour.

Fortunately, she and her husband found assistance from fellow commuters, who helped her safely deliver a baby girl around 9.30 am.
The young mother and her newborn were immediately rushed to hospital by Railway Protection Force (RPF) constables.
The incident Yesterday, the heavily pregnant Namrata complained about abdominal pain to her husband, who runs a catering business.
The couple decided to pay a visit to her doctor in Virar. A little before 9 am, they boarded the general compartment of a Boisar-Diva shuttle train. However, Namrata went into labour in the train.
The male passengers in the coach made way for the delivery, while the woman gathered round to help her.
The stationmaster had already been informed. When the train reached Virar, the stationmaster and RPF constables Sonali Pawar and Nausheen Shaikh shifted mother and child to an ambulance and took them to Sanjeevani Hospital. Both the mother and the baby are safe.
RPF speak Constable Pawar said, &ldquo;We got a call from the stationmaster around 9.15 am and we immediately rushed to help. We reached the station and waited for the train to arrive.
She further added, &ldquo;When the Diva-bound shuttle arrived at Virar station, we approached the general compartment where Namrata had delivered the baby girl with the help of fellow passengers. She was in an unconscious state. Another RPF constable covered her and the newborn and we took them to Sanjeevani Hospital in Virar.&rdquo;
