Mumbai: 21-year-old delivers baby in running train

The woman and her husband were on their way to hospital when she went into labour; fellow passengers helped her give birth in the general compartment of the shuttle train

When Saphale-based couple Namrata and Yogesh Narayan Kini left their house last morning, they couldn’t have suspected the following turn of events. 21-year-old Namrata was pregnant and had complained of abdominal pain, so they decided to go to the hospital for a check-up. But on their way in a shuttle train, Namrata went into labour.
