Police identify body found on tracks at Goregaon on Mar 18; family says marks on body point to a struggle before death

The post-mortem report has revealed that Bhola Turi died due to multiple injuries
The body of a 30-year-old man, found on the railway tracks at Goregaon on Holi (March 18) has been identified by his family. The Borivli Government Railway Police (GRP) suspect that the deceased either met with an accident or has died by suicide. However, the deceased Bhola Turi’s family claims that the Turi was robbed and later murdered.
According to police, Turi was a resident of Goregaon East and worked as a cook in a Chinese restaurant. Turi’s brother Bhuneshwar said, “My brother took Rs 1,000 from the hotel owner to celebrate Holi. Later, he went missing. We thought he went to the village to meet his wife and his one-year-old daughter. But on Sunday we were shocked to hear about his death. When I checked, I found nail scratch marks on his neck. His mobile phone and wallet are missing too.”
