Poor road monitoring has once again put the spotlight on the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) after serious wear and tear was found on the new bus lane, which replaced a portion of the Rs 6.48 crore cycle track at BKC.
The dedicated bus lane was opened to BEST buses a few weeks ago. However, while buses have started plying on the lane, the barriers used to divide the lane from the other roads are already in a state of disrepair. According to sources, the damage was caused due to autorickshaws and private vehicles, which have begun using the lane.
