<p>Morya and Bhoir lakes in Mulund East will sport a new look in a year&rsquo;s time, with the BMC set to start upgrading the water bodies. The project will cost about Rs 5.05 crore and is expected to be completed in 11 months.</p>

<p>The BMC had invited in August tenders for the beautification of Morya lake in MHADA Colony near the Eastern Express Highway and Bhoir lake near Nalanda Public School. The makeover project includes construction of steps leading to the lakes, railings, redoing entrance gates, sidewalks, gazebos, developing greenery and repair of retaining walls.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The proposal will be tabled in the standing committee meeting of the corporation on Wednesday. Seven contractors had responded to the tender and quoted at least 20 per cent below the estimated cost. The civic administration has proposed to award the contract to J S Infratech that is ready to work at 32 per cent less than BMC&rsquo;s estimate.&nbsp;</p><p>
