After Mumbai civic chief's surprise inspection, BMC launches green buffers and odour control drive at Kanjurmarg

BMC has announced immediate green buffer zones and stronger odour control measures at Kanjurmarg waste processing site following Bombay High Court concerns and a surprise visit by Commissioner Ashwini Bhide. Bio-enzymes, night monitoring teams, and real-time AQI systems to be deployed to reduce smell for nearby residents

In response to concerns raised by the Bombay High Court and recommendations of the Monitoring Committee, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has proposed a series of immediate environmental mitigation and odour management measures at the Kanjurmarg Waste Processing Site.
The action plan comes shortly after BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide conducted a surprise inspection of the facility early on Wednesday morning.
