The accident had occured on December 8, 2014 when Giri allegedly ran over a housewife, Rajmati Jain, at Goregaon West and fled the scene. However, the incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the spot. The car number was clearly seen in the footage that helped the police nab the accused.
