When Bhojpuri actor Sikandar Khan hauled the men who assaulted him and his wife to the Oshiwara police station, little did he know that his efforts to register a case against them would be reduced to a mere non-cognisable (NC) complaint. The police refused to register a First Information Report (FIR) in the case since Khan and his wife had no ‘external injuries.’
