Mumbai Covid-19 cases dip below 200, TPR 0.47 per cent

The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 219 people recovered and were discharged on Sunday

The city saw 187 new Covid-19 patients on Sunday after 40,031 tests, with test positivity rate of 0.47 per cent. There were two deaths reported in Mumbai, however, MMR, excluding the city, registered zero deaths. The state registered 704 new cases and 16 deaths.

The BMC started extensive testing amid the fear of the new variant omicron. On Saturday, the city had seen a jump in daily cases at 256 with a marginal rise in the TPR (0.57 per cent). The city’s lowest TPR of the second wave was recorded on December 1 at 0.28 per cent..
