Mumbai Crime: Cyber Police’s email account hacked from UP

Cyber Police DCP Sanjay Shintre of East region said, 'This is the first time our email account has been hacked. We found that the account was hacked from UP. The accused sent mails to various people stating, 'Terrorist behind Jammu and Kashmir gunned down in Mumbai'

Mumbai East Region Cyber Police’s email account has been hacked by an unknown hacker from Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday morning. The hacker also sent phishing emails to several citizens which stated, “Terrorist behind Jammu and Kashmir gunned down in Mumbai.” Mumbai Cyber Police immediately issued a circular requesting citizens to not open the email. Cyber Police have started investigations, but are yet to make an arrest. Experts are recovering all mails from the id—eastcyber.mum@mahapolice.gov.in.
