A minor boy was sexually assaulted by an unknown man in a public toilet in Vikhroli on Friday. The man even locked the child inside the toilet, where he cried in pain for three hours before being found by his mother.

The case was registered with the Parksite police in Vikhroli, who have now released a sketch of the accused based on the description given by the child. According to the police, the survivor is a seven-year-old student of Std 1. On Friday, around 1 pm, he had gone to a public toilet in Varsha Nagar, Vikhroli (West), to answer nature&rsquo;s call.
An officer from Parksite police station, requesting anonymity, said, &ldquo;When the boy went inside the toilet, the accused followed him and pushed him inside and locked the door. After sodomising him, the accused came out and locked the child inside.&rdquo;
&ldquo;Had the accused come out with the child, the boy would&rsquo;ve informed the locals. So, he locked the boy inside to prevent getting caught,&rdquo; added the officer. The child kept crying in pain and it was only after 4 pm that he was found, when his mother started hunting for her son. The boy then narrated his ordeal to her mother, who took him to the police to register a complaint.
The boy was sent to the hospital for a medical examination, which revealed that he had sustained injuries to his private parts. Parksite police have registered the case under Sections 377 (unnatural sex), 342 (wrongful confinement), and 506 (2) of the Indian Penal Code, along with Sections 4, 6, 8 and 10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
S S Sakpal, senior police inspector, Parksite police station, confirmed that the case had been registered and said investigations are in progress.
