While the Mumbai University has just wrapped up the Indian Science Congress and is now gearing up to resume academics after an extended Christmas vacation, undergraduate students are anxiously waiting for their semester results, of which there has been no news so far.

Students are worried that, without the results, they will have no idea whether they need to apply for ATKT or other post-exam processes. Students of the Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM) and Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) programmes are still waiting for their fifth semester results.
Exams for both courses were delayed due to the Assembly elections, which meant students could not enjoy their Diwali vacations properly. And now, the anxiety over results threatens to spoil their Christmas vacations as well, said students.
BMM exams were meant to get over by October 20, 2014, but were then rescheduled to be held between October 27 and November 3. Similarly, the BMS exams finished by mid-November. Since the Diwali break had to be compromised to accommodate the change in the exam schedule, students were promised extra holidays during Christmas vacations.
Most colleges will remain shut till January 12. “Our exams got rescheduled in 2014 because of the state elections, and they ended up ruining our Diwali vacations. According to the university website, our results should be released within 45 days, but there has been no news of them yet,” said Anika Rajan, a third-year BMM student.
She added that while the university office was shut for the vacations, even the MU helpline was of little assistance, as the officials were not aware of what was happening about the results. Another student said, “Even our college heads have not been informed about a probable date for the results. The problem lies in the fact that they’ll soon start asking us to submit applications for ATKT exams, which we won’t know about till the results are out.”
University speak When mid-day contacted university officials, however, they gave assurances that all results would be declared at the earliest. “Students are still vacationing and colleges are shut. We will send across the results to colleges once they reopen and the students and institutes will be informed in advance,” said a senior official. He added that students will also be given ample time to finish all processes that need to be followed after the announcement of results.

After their exams were delayed due to elections, BMM and BMS students are now facing a delay in the results as well; they fear they will be left with no time to apply for ATKT or other processes
