The lazy, boozy New York-style brunches featured live performances. Executive chef Jaydeep Mukherjee aka JD, recalls, “We were the city’s first chain to introduce the concept of Sunday brunches at a standalone restaurant when only hotels had the concept.
Our patrons are well-travelled and have been exposed to the New York-style brunches. To live up to the expectation, we introduced the same here, a leisurely brunch with the perfect European ambience.”
Now, guess what? For Indigo’s 17th anniversary celebrations on April 24, the restaurant is recreating the ambience with a lavish brunch spread featuring everything from antipasti to spiked popsicles. Wouldn’t want to miss out on this one, eh?

Initially, we were appalled at the apathy of babus, imagining that they might have forgotten to edit the subject line for an internal mail meant for colleagues. After a few moments, we realised that the referred to ‘sheet’. Need a sub-editor, MTDC?

“Che Guevara won so many battles drinking rum and coke, but it didn’t work too well for him; he got executed,” owner Riyaaz Amlani joked with this diarist. Also, look out for Goti sodas in nostalgic flavours like Spicy Vodka Lemonade, Rose Sherbet Rum and Old Monk Jaljeera at the chain’s newest outpost.

Collectors will be familiar with this annual exhibition, but this edition, organisers say, will be extra-special because it marks 25 years of its journey. Since it is a landmark date, there are a number of firsts. Over the three-day show, the Bharat Ratna India’s highest civilian award will be on display.

Oft heard and read about, it is time the Mumbaikar actually ‘sees’ this award. History buffs will also be able to see Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s gold and silver Hoan (coin) on display. The highlight is the launch of a virtual museum for collectors of coins, banknotes and stamps.
The portal (www.mintageworld.com) launched last Saturday, aims to bring the younger fold into the world of coin collecting.
