Good deeds branch out This is a Christmas tree with a difference. Children of St Anthony&rsquo;s Church, Malwani in Malad (West) were asked to write down good deeds they have done, in the Season of Advent, and attach them to the branches of a tree placed in the church.

While some wrote that they had helped their parents, others wrote that they had helped a blind person cross the road. Some children put down visiting the orphanage as their good deed of the season, while others mentioned that they were obedient to their elders.
Now that&rsquo;s what we call positive reinforcement. The kids can put moral lessons into practice, and also share the joy of each others&rsquo; actions. Hope this tree sprouts many young leaves, and bears fruit as the children grow up with these values in their foundation.
Santa is in town The city&rsquo;s oldest entertainment park has well and truly entered into the Christmas spirit with a special Santa Town this week.

The Gorai-based park, which is turning 25 today, will have Santa Claus going around in this special town for the next 10 days. The park has a Polar Express train for kids, a snowman, Christmas tree and lights, bringing the joy of the season for those visiting the park.

With the vacations on, many school as well as college children are headed there. With its anniversary celebrations ongoing concurrently, it&rsquo;s a double merry season for the amusement park.
In the right spirit Youth festivals are like exams every college has one. But the Prahladrai Dalmia Lions commerce college in Malad went one better with their recent inter-collegiate festival. The students donated the proceeds from the festival (about Rs 31,000) to the Seva Sahyog Foundation, an NGO working for rehabilitation of Kashmiri people.
In the light of ravages caused by flooding earlier this year, it is a touching gesture, and we hope other colleges and educational institutions follow suit. Youth talent is immense youth power even more so.
