Mumbai lake update: Heavy rains fill Modak Sagar; fourth reservoir overflows this monsoon

Modak Sagar Lake, one of the seven reservoirs supplying drinking water to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) area, started overflowing at 2:07 am on Thursday, following continuous heavy rainfall across its catchment.
With this, Modak Sagar has become the fourth lake to overflow this monsoon, after Vihar, Tulsi and Tansa, further strengthening Mumbai's water reserves.
