Mumbai lakes at 94.15 per cent capacity, water stock higher than last two years

Mumbai’s seven lakes held 13,62,624 million litres of water, or 94.15 per cent of their total live storage capacity, as of August 19. Vihar, Tulsi and Modak Sagar remained 100 per cent full, while the city’s overall stock surpassed levels recorded in 2025 and 2024

Mumbai's seven lakes, which supply drinking water to the city, collectively held 13,62,624 million litres of water, or 94.15 per cent of their total live storage capacity, as of 6 am on Wednesday, August 19, according to the Hydraulic Engineer's Department at the Bhandup Master Control Centre.
