Central Railway, while sharing Mumbai local train updates, on Friday said that it will operate a mega block between Matunga and Mulund stations on Sunday, May 25.

Central Railway's Mumbai division will operate mega block on its suburban sections carrying out various engineering and maintenance works on 25.5.2025 as under:


Matunga-Mulund UP and Down slow lines from 11.05 am to 3.55 pm


- Down slow line services leaving CSMT Mumbai from 10.14 am to 3.52 pm will be diverted on down fast line between Matunga and Mulund stations halting at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund stations and further re-diverted on Down slow line at Mulund station and will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule.

- UP slow line services Leaving Thane  from 11.07 am to 3.51 pm will be diverted on UP fast  line at Mulund, between  Mulund and Matunga stations halting at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla and Sion and further re-diverted on UP slow line at Matunga  station and will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule

- All UP and DOWN locals leaving / arriving CSMT between 11.00 am to 05.00 pm will reach destination 15 minutes later than scheduled time.

- UP and Down Trans-Harbour Line between Thane and Vashi/Nerul stations from 11.10 am to 4.10 pm

- UP and Down Trans-Harbour line services will remain suspended between Vashi /Nerul and Thane stations during the block period.

- Down line services for Vashi/Nerul/Panvel leaving Thane from 10.35 am to 4.07 pm and UP line services for Thane leaving Panvel / Nerul / Vashi from 10.25 am to 4.09 pm will remain cancelled.

"These maintenance mega blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused," the Central Railway said.

Western Railway announces night block between Bhayandar and Borivali on May 24–25

Meanwhile, Western Railway on Friday announced a night block between Bhayandar and Borivali stations during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, May 24–25, 2025, to carry out essential maintenance work.

According to WR's Mumbai local train updates, the block is necessary for the upkeep of railway infrastructure, including track repairs, signalling systems, and overhead equipment.

In a statement, Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, said the "Jumbo Block" will be in effect from 11:30 pm to 3:00 am on the UP fast line and from 1:15 am to 4:45 am on the Down fast line. During these hours, all fast local trains will be diverted to the UP slow lines between Virar/Vasai Road and Borivali. As a result, certain local train services will be cancelled.

Passengers are advised to check with the Station Master’s office at their respective stations for detailed information on train schedules and service changes.

Western Railway has also confirmed that there will be no day block on Sunday, May 25, 2025, ensuring uninterrupted suburban train services during the day.
