A 20-year-old man was found with his throat slit in Malwani in the wee hours of Sunday. The police are investigating whether it is a case of attempted murder, but say that, prima facie, it appears to be a suicide attempt.

A neighbour discovered the victim, Tyson Anthony, a driver by profession, screaming and rushing out of his house in Malwani, Malad, with blood spurting out of his slit throat. He was immediately rushed to Shatabdi hospital, where his condition is said to be critical.
Around 3.30 am, a neighbour heard a noise from Tyson&rsquo;s house in the Kacha Rasta area of Malwani and it sounded like someone was pounding on the walls. When Tyson came rushing out of the house a few minutes later, the neighbour was shocked to see Tyson holding his throat, trying to stem the flow of blood, which was gushing out.
She told the police that Tyson was trying to say something, but could not speak due to the injury. She immediately called for help. Tyson had reached the main road when the police arrived.
&lsquo;No quarrels&rsquo; The neighbour told the police that Tyson had been staying with his brother, Johnson, in the house since four months, and the neighbours had never witnessed any fight between them.
Johnson told the police that when he reached home on Saturday night, he found the door locked from inside. Even after he rang the bell several times, Tyson did not answer. Johnson then left for his elder brother Nelson Anthony&rsquo;s house in Kanchpada, Malad.
Unemployed After taking Tyson to the hospital, when the police went to the house, they found liquor bottles and a pool of blood on the floor. The cops said that Tyson was a driver and had been jobless from the past several months.
His engagement had taken place a few days ago, and when his fiance&rsquo;s family had come to know that he did not have a job, they cancelled the wedding. Sources revealed that Tyson had been depressed about all of this. The police also summoned Johnson and spoke to him.
&ldquo;Prima facie, it seems like a suicide attempt. The belongings inside the house were untouched and there were spider webs on the entrance. We have found a blade from the house, which points out that it is a suicide attempt.
In the initial probe, it was looking like a case of attempt to murder, but further investigation has ruled out the angle,&rdquo; said Senior Inspector Milind Khatle of Malwani police station.
