Mumbai Metro services halted for 17 minutes after man walks on Blue Line 1 tracks

Mumbai Metro Blue Line 1 services were suspended for 17 minutes after a 24-year-old man entered the tracks between Andheri and Azad Nagar stations. The youth was apprehended, and an FIR was registered under the Metro Railways Act for trespassing and disrupting operations

Metro Blue Line 1 services ground to a halt for 17 minutes late Wednesday afternoon, after a 24-year-old Vasai resident, Abhinandan Ashok Sule, ventured onto the tracks between the Andheri and Azad Nagar stations.

The intrusion was immediately detected through surveillance systems, prompting station operations and security teams to activate emergency safety measures and safely get hold of Sule. The Andheri police have registered an FIR against the youth under Sections 64 and 67 of the Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002.
