The Mumbai Monorail is likely to take the tracks only after all necessary safety checks and precautionary measures are completed, with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) opting for an additional inspection of the elevated corridor before restarting services.
The Chembur–Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk corridor has remained shut for nearly a year. While the Monorail has completed safety tests and received clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS), MMRDA wants to address concerns over gaps at certain portions of the elevated structure before services resume.
