Mumbai has received around 74 per cent of its average July rainfall in just the first four days of the month, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The civic body said several parts of the city recorded 250 mm to 300 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours ending on 4 July 2026. This amounts to nearly 40 per cent of July's average rainfall and about 25 per cent of the city's annual seasonal rainfall.
