Mumbai's open space warriors win! CM asks BMC to take back open plots

In a victory for the city's open space activists, after months of struggle, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently directed Municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta to review the RG/PG policy and ensure that all the open spaces be utilised for Mumbaikars.
Fadnavis has also directed the civic body to acquire the 200-odd plots owned by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) that have presently been given to private organisations on adoption basis. mid-day has the list of these 200-odd plots. The list throws up some interesting names such as Cuffe Parade garden, Colaba Woods, Mai Mangeshkar garden at Shivaji Park, etc.
