Three tainted Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) cops allegedly involved in a Rs 49 lakh cheating case have been thrown out of the elite squad. The cops have been transferred to the local arms unit, which is considered a punishment posting.

Two senior cops of the Juhu ATS unit seem to be have been shielded, however, with only three constables being punished. On August 5, mid-day had broken the story of five ATS policemen staging an elaborate plan, which included the staged arrest of two accomplices, to cheat UP builder Akhilesh Chauhan of Rs 49 lakh.
