Mumbai to face water shortage today

Tuesday’s power crisis also affected Bhatsa pumping system, Bhandup treatment facility, which means whole city to face water shortage

Water supply to the city was hit due to power failure at Bhandup and Pise Panjrapole treatment plants on Tuesday. The supply from the Bhatsa dam stopped for over six hours and the restoration will take another day, which means citizens will face water shortage on Wednesday, too.
Electricity supply in parts of the MMR was affected on Tuesday morning. Though the connection was restored with a couple of hours, it affected the water supply from Bhatsa dam, which provides 60 per cent of the city’s needs.
